It started out as a simple idea. Throw a party, invite all your customers, and thank them for their support in making it to 10 years in Corpus Christi. Then the marketing guys got a hold of the idea. Now we have 3 vendors coming in (thank you Shortel, Lifesize and Neovia Solutions), a “server” submerged in a muddy fish tank (what’s that all about?), and Ron running around in a batman suit (ok i made that one up). We’ve got beer, wine, the Boombox Brothers, strange globe thingies hanging from the ceiling and giveaways from our beloved clients and our great vendors.
All that’s missing are the guests.
We have food while it lasts. We’re expecting 200-250. I would be happy with 150 though that would be a lot of leftovers (BBQ anyone?). Facebook Events, save-the-dates, and hard invites (as well as Eventbrite invites) have been sent out to friends and all the clients. We realized at the very end that we may have missed a few, and quickly shot out another email to try to catch the stragglers. Reminders to everyone, inviting everyone we run into… If you ask Cecil, it’s all part of the deal, and thank God for good old Cecil. You think any of this would have happened without him and Tamera doing all the hard work?
It’s amazing some of the maintenance items you can put off in an office this size. I’ll spare you the gory details but let’s just say we are the proud owners of a new toilet roll holder. And since when did IT consulting companies have plants? Oh, those poor things won’t survive long. That TV that has been sitting in the conference room on a table for 6 months finally made it onto the wall.
I even had to go buy new flip-flops for today.
It’s really coming together; we can’t wait to see everyone there!
